Monthly Meeting Minutes
October 15, 2018
The meeting was called to order by President MaryKay Childress at 6:00 pm.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said followed by a moment of silence for our military.
Lynn Bartlett, Jeanne Engle, and Tom Budzinski led the club in the singing of the Badger Fight Song.
The entertainment for the Oktoberfest event was, appropriately enough, the Villages German Band.
The food for the night was from Hill’s Barbecue of Gainesville, Florida. Dinner consisted of roast pig, German sausage, green beans, German potato salad and apple slices for dessert.
The meeting was suspended for dinner.
At 6:30 pm the Treasurer’s Report was given by Hal Baumann (copy attached). Motion/second/approved.
Membership chairperson Roxanne introduced 9 new members.
Our new Hospitality Chairperson is Maryanne Welke.
Judy Cimbalnik will head up Dine Around again this year. If Interested please give her a call.
Lynn Bartlett has 30 seats reserved for the St. Augustine day and night light tour on Monday, December 10th. Cost is $70 per person. Checks should be made out to the WI Club Lake Sumter. The contribution jar for Stanton-Wiersdale Elementary School Thanksgiving Dinner Fund was set up in the back of the meeting room.
At 6:45 pm the Villages German Band resumed playing.
The 50/50 drawing was held with prizes of $60/$50/$30/$25.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:09 pm.
