Mark your calendars for fun-filled Wisconsin Club meetings for 2018-2019. Here’s what’s on tap:

September 17 – Comedian George Locke has been performing his brand of humor with Villages sensibility for 20 years. He’s been called a great singer, master of one-liners, and an all-around natural showman. This fast-paced mix of comedy and music will make for an enjoyable time for all.
We will also have a presentation from a representative of Stanton-Weirsdale school – one of the charities that our Club supports.

Potluck appetizers – bring something to share with everyone; BYOB.

October 15 – We’re celebrating Oktoberfest. By popular demand, our pig roast returns. Get your tickets for an authentic German dinner – with German beer and dessert. Only $20 (Club members) or $25 (guests). Contact Hal Baumann (hal.baumann1959@gmail.com or 352-259-6552). Entertainment will be provided by The Villages German Band. An evening of Gemütlichkeit!

November 19 – Singer, Kim Marie Manske, has been entertaining in Milwaukee, Las Vegas, and New York City. Her repertoire includes songs from the 1930s to the present. We welcome a fellow 

Wisconsinite (and Floridian, in the winter) to the stage this month.

The Club will provide cheese curds – always a popular treat; bring snacks to share at your table; BYOB.

December 17 – All Wisconsin Clubs Holiday Party (planning by the On Wisconsin Club). Entertainment from Dana Kamide. Watch for details in future e-newsletters.

January 21 – Trivia with Villager Tom Gourlay. Let’s see how much you remember about TV shows, movies, celebrities, and music mainly from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. We’ll be working in teams at our tables. Prizes awarded for the winners. We will also have presentations from representatives of the charities that our Club supports – Stanton-Weirsdale School and Combat Veterans to Careers.

February 18 – It’s Mexican Night for our Club. Los Magueyes (from Wildwood) will be catering our dinner of fajitas and fixin’s with ice cream for dessert. Tickets are $12 (for Members) and $17 (for guests) and will be available the end of 2018. The Romantics Trio will provide a show of Mariachi and Latin music.

March 18 – And the horses are off! It’s race night at “Colony Downs” with anIrish twist. Save a few $1 bills to bring with you. You just may be a big winner at the track this evening.

April 15 – John B & Friends will entertain us with a tribute to John Denver, singer-songwriter, actor, activist, and humanitarian. Sing along to the many hits of Denver’s career. In his honor, we’ll celebrate Earth Day, too.

May 20 – Our annual picnic with outdoor games. The Club will provide the meat. Bring an appetizer, side dish, or dessert to pass; BYOB. Maybe this year it won’t rain!

Game Night

Game nights occur on the 4th Monday of every month at 6 PM at the Bacall Rec Center on Canal Street.  If interested, just show up; BYOB and snacks.  These fun nights continue each month on the fourth Monday unless otherwise announced.
