Monthly Meeting Minutes
November 21, 2016
The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by an American Legion bugler who played Assembly.
President Richard acknowledged and introduced Commander Suetler and the Honor Guard from Lady Lake Post #345. At this point, Richard said: “Commander please present the colors.”
The Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem followed the presentation of colors.
Ron the Music Man provided the music for the evening. His first set included the anthems for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. Club members stood for the song of their particular branch.
The financial report was given by Treasurer Hal Baumann. There was a motion, second and approval of the report. (Copy Attached)
New members were introduced by Membership Chairperson Joanie Schachtner. We have 8 new members: Mark J. Miller (Sheboygan); Donna VanEss (Green Bay); Mary Lou Betz (LaCrosse/Madison); Mick and Leslie Larsen (Amery); Terry and Nancy Schmidt (LaCrosse); Marianne Estes (Waukesha);
Barb Spahr gave an update on the upcoming Panama Canal cruise. 65 members and friends will be sailing on this 11 day cruise.
A reminder to get tickets for the Wisconsin Clubs of The Villages Holiday Party. The party will be held at Colony Cottage Regional Center, Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Cost of the ticket is $30 per person.
Dine Around is getting set up for next year. Don’t forget to sign up. It’s a great way to meet club members while having a gastronomical adventure.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:45. President Richard said “Let the dancing begin” before turning the hall over to Ron the Music Man for an hour of dancing.
