Wisconsin Club Lake Sumter
Monthly Meeting Minutes
May, 2018

The meeting was called to order by President Thies, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a table prayer.

The meeting was suspended for dinner.

The President made comments regarding the charitable donations that are derived from the 50/50 drawing.  This year we gave $700 to Stanton/Wiersdale Elementary School.  Bill Cammack will deliver the check to the Principal.  In addition, a $600 check was designated for Combat Veterans to Careers.  Helen Feeney will deliver this check.   Both of these recipients will be asked to make brief comments at our January 2019 meeting.

Game Night for this month will be held at Bacall Recreation Center at 6:00 pm, Monday, May 28th.

President Thies thanked Marylyn Butenhof for setting up another successful multi-club golf outing.  You can sign up next September for the Fall Scramble.  The cost will remain $2.00.

At our last meeting, President Thies circulated a petition to try to convince Comcast not to drop the Big Ten Network in our region.  The petition was delivered to Comcast who later informed Dick that they were not changing their minds.

A thank you to Scott Dryburgh for setting up the flags for our monthly meetings.

The President thanked Bill Cammack for again handling the reservations for the Packer games at Cody’s in Brownwood.

Thanks to Joanne Schachtner (and Jim for help and support) for her many years of service as Membership Chair.

Jerry and Sue Assmus were recognized and thanked for all their work in handling the hospitality table for several years.

Last, but not least, President Thies thanked his wife, Dinah, for all her work and support.

The Treasurer’s Report for April 1, 2018, to April 30, 2018, was read by Hal Baumann.  A motion to approve was made, seconded and approved.  (Copy attached)

Membership Chair Joanne Schachtner introduced two new members.

A Cornhole competition followed.  The winners received scratch-off lottery tickets.

The 50/50 drawing was held.  Ironically, our new members won two of the drawings.  Congratulations!!

President Thies thanked his Board for their service.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Bill Cammack, Secretary
