DickWelcome to our newest members, Kevin and Linda Arnold; Robert and Kay Krusinski; Owen and Jerry Been and Dennis and Linda Ryan. Congratulations to Joanie Schachtner (1st), Sue Asmus (2nd) and Nancy Van Rooy (3rd) for their winning Potato salads. A big THANK YOU to all of the contestants; your Potato Salads were superb! A JOB WELL DONE to MaryKay Childress and our volunteers for the food preparation and setup work. You all made my job easy.

Wisconsin Sports
I am a big University of Wisconsin Sports fan. The women’s hockey team is still #1 and Buckyundefeated; the volleyball ladies are #4 and just beat Penn State, a perennial contender for the national championship; the men’s hockey team (4-2) just swept St. Lawrence and Clarkston on their home ice, and men’s basketball starts this weekend. And then there is our Badger football team.

THREE WINS VS TOP 10 TEAMS; a 6-2 record with a shot at playing in the big ten championship game! You could say that the tough part of the schedule is behind them, but all four of the remaining games could wind up being a “trap” game. Defensive players are getting hurt but “the next guy up” still is working well. I do believe that our offense will get better; I think we had at least seven different line combinations against Nebraska. But WOW, what a great game to watch (I envy my friends who were able to use our tickets). By the time our November meeting occurs, only one game will remain. I hope to be a big cheerleader on November 21.Green Bay Logo

Our PACKERS (4-3) can still have a great year. However, with no real running game and a lot of defensive injuries, it will not be easy to win consistently. Next are the COLTS at Lambeau Nov. 6 (CBS) @4:25 PM; at the TITANS Nov. 13 (Fox) @1 PM; and at the REDSKINS Nov.20 (NBC) @8:30 PM.

Dining Out dining-out
Signing up for the January-March Dining Out will take place at the November meeting. This is a great way to get to know more members of your club. Three or four couples are grouped and take turns setting up a monthly Dining Out for their group. Dinah and I can attest to the good friendships we have developed and will be signing up again.

Election Day Tuesday, November 8
I urge each of you to exercise your right to be part of the process of choosing the next leader of our great country.

Safe travels for those returning to the villages or heading out for special events. We hope to see you all at a meeting soon. GO BADGERS; GO PACKERS!!!

Your President
