August WI Club Newsletter 2016
Summer is almost over. You may have experienced the joy of traveling to an exotic location, the birth of a new grandchild, the marriage of a grandchild, the celebration of a marriage milestone, attending a school, family or other group reunion or achieved a significant personal goal. Each of you will have new stories to tell.
Dinah and I spent a week on the Outer Banks with our daughters (Deb and Darcy), their husbands, our two grandchildren, and three of the four “family grand dogs”. We try to get them together (from Raleigh, N.C. and Scotia, N.Y.) each year at Thanksgiving or Christmas, but the periodic summertime gathering is always special. Our summer will be capped by a trip back to Wisconsin for the Wisconsin/LSU game at Lambeau Field and the two other non-conference games at Camp Randall.
I want to give special thanks to your clubs officers, Vice President MaryKay Childress, Secretary Bill Cammack, Treasurer Hal Baumann, Asst. V.P and Membership Chair Joanie Schachtner, Past President Helen Feeney, and our Webmaster, Nancy K. Miller for the hard work they have already put in to get us ready for the 2016-17 meeting year. Our phone numbers, email addresses, and soon, officer Bio’s, are on the Club website at www.wiclublakesumter.org.

Dining Out coming soon!
Once Judy Cimbalnik is back, we will be signing up for Dining Out. This is a great way to get to know more members of your club. Three or four couples are grouped and take turns setting up a monthly Dining Out for their group. Dinah and I can attest to the good friendships we have developed and look forward to signing up again this fall.
Safe travels for those returning to the villages or heading out for special events. We hope to see you all at a meeting this fall. And GO BADGERS; GO PACKERS!!!
