WEAR YOUR RED AND WHITE COLORS, BADGER SHIRTS, BRING YOUR PENNANTS, WEAR YOUR TEAM SHIRTS…WHATEVER–EVEN YOUR CHEESE HEADS….BUT LET’S JUST DO IT TOGETHER!!! BRING YOUR CHAIRS WITH YOU IF YOU CAN!!! SEVERAL OUTSIDE BARS WILL BE OPEN…(FOR YOUR INFO ONLY!!) SEE YA THERE…ON THE SQUARE!!!!
I do hope all of you had an enjoyable and pleasant summer! We are very close to starting our new fiscal year in a few days, and a fun and exciting one it is sure to be! I am so happy to say we are opening the year with group College and NFL Football viewing at both of the Cody’s Roadhouses in the Villages. The new one in Brownwood won’t open until September 22, I was told yesterday by the Manager of it. So, we will have to be a little patient before we can all be together. Some of us can see the Packer’s at RJ Gator’s in Lake Sumter, and others at Gator’s Dockside in Spanish Springs, where Paradise people watch it. We probably won’t get the Happy Hour discount advantage we will have given to us at Cody’s, however! I will be sure to keep you all updated on this if anything changes. At least 2 days before each Badger or Packer game, I need to turn in the number of people going to show up, so please, all of you who signed up to participate in this–and those who have not yet done so, be sure to let me know. There will be no organized viewing of the WI Badger game this Saturday, as it does not start on ESPN until 9:00 p.m.!
Vice President Judy Cimbalnik tells me the September 15th meeting is looking good…the Traveling Nerd will be our DJ..,playing 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s music to get us up off our chairs and start the new season right with a littler interaction! This will happen after you all have had a chance to purchase your $15.00 Oktoberfest tickets to be used at October’s meeting on the 20th. Be sure to bring your own Beverages and a Snack to share to this meeting, and to every meeting of the year!
If you won’t be able to attend the September meeting, you may purchase your Oktoberfest tickets by sending your $15.00 per person check, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to our Treasurer, Hal Baumann, at 2003 Ridge Spring Dr., The Villages, FL 32162. You may call him, at 352-259-6552, if you get back here right after the meeting and would like to pick them up at his residence. His email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Judy has a great Oktoberfest planned for us, complete with that fabulous entertainer we had with us last year–Ron the Music Man, along with some delicious Brats in beer & onions, Sauerkraut, and other typical Oktoberfest fare. I have planned to have some Corn Hole Toss Game boards set up outside the Rec Center, weather permitting, to give us a little fun activity before dinner starts. The October meeting will start at 5:00 p.m., so we will have plenty of time
to play and eat before listening and Dancing. Don’t forget to bring your Snacks to share, and your own Beverages.
At our November 17th meeting, you WI Club members, will be treated to a night of playing Extreme Bingo, led by entertainer Ric Mitchell, complete with prizes. What a fun night this promises to be for us! Remember those BYO drinks and Snacks to Pass!
Now, for December. It is our Club’s turn to host the annual Christmas dinner party again, and Judy and her committee have it well in hand. It will be called the WI Club Holly & Mistletoe Dinner Dance, with the Clark Barrios Duet as our entertainers. For the first time, your reservations will be able to be made together with friends for Tables of 8. You will be able to read more about it on our web site: www.WIclublakesumter.org. , or by contacting Judy at email@example.com. Tickets sales and reservations will begin at the October meeting for this wonderful Holiday Event on December 15, 2014, at 5:30 p.m.
Remember to promote our great WI Club anytime you happen to run into some WI people on the Golf Courses or in the Rec Centers or The Squares and Pools and Restaurants, so that we can continue to build our membership roster and help other people who have just moved in get acquainted with other nice Wisconsinites!
If there are any of you interested in setting up and running a Day Trip or Tour, or off-campus Dining Event or Shopping Excursion, please feel free to let me know watcha got!! 787-914- 7811.
See many of you soon…go Packers…go Badgers!! Helen Feeney, Your Prez
