Wisconsin Club of Lake Sumter Minutes – General Meeting March 16, 2015

  1. President, Helen Feeney, called the meeting to order at 6:50 p.m. with The Pledge of Allegiance. 
  2. Secretary’s Report: The Minutes for the February 16, 2015 meeting are available on the Club’s website. 
  3. Treasurer’s Report: Hal Baumann reported that the previous balance on February 1, 2015 was$7,890.58. Income was $1,559.00. Expenses were $6,945.36. The February 28, 2015 check book balance was $5,935.30. There were no questions and the Report was accepted as read.

     

  4. Membership: As of February 24, 2015, the Club membership was 266. At this Meeting, Helen Feeney introduced 18 new members. 
  5. Election of Officers: Helen Feeney introduced the slate of Officers nominated for the June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2016 term. President: Helen Feeney; Vice-President: Tom Stolt; Treasurer: Hal Baumann; Secretary: Jan Kloeffler; Assistant Treasurer/Membership: Joanie Schachtner. Mary Viegut will continue on as Consultant (non-elected position). Helen called for nominations from the floor. There were none and nominations were closed. The vote to elect the slate of nominated officers as introduced passed unanimously. 
  6. Announcements:
    1. Wisconsin Club Game & Card Night: This meeting will be held on Monday, March 30 at 6:00p.m. at Bacall Recreation Center instead of on Monday, March 26.

       

    2. Wisconsin Singers & Dancers: Helen encouraged members to purchase tickets because our Club receives a percentage of the proceeds for our treasury. This production will take place at the Savannah Center, Monday, March 30 at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Tickets are available at The Villages Box Office. 
    3. WI Club Web-Master & E-mail Coordinator: Gary Gerke submitted his resignation effective December 31, 2015. Helen asked for any members with some web design experience to consider taking over this volunteer position with the Club. 
    4. April 20, 2015 Meeting: An old fashioned Hoe Down is planned with The Villages Square Dancers leading participants in some “country-western do-si-dos”. This will follow a pot-luck supper with the Club providing fried chicken. Attendees need to bring a dish to share, such as: Salad, side dish, or dessert. The start time for the April meeting will be published in the April Newsletter.

The Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. The 50/50 drawings had 4 winners.

 

Following the meeting, a St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza was hosted by singer, Petrina, and musician,

Tony Orlando.
