Monthly Meeting Minutes
February 15, 2016
Meeting was called to order with The Pledge of Allegiance at 6:55 PM.
Financials were presented by Hal Baumann, Treasurer. Current checkbook balance is $9,968.63.
Helen Feeney presented the current slate of officers for the 2016-17 term and asked for volunteers to fill open positions. The following slate was developed and will be approved by the membership at the March meeting: Dick Thies – President, Mary Kay Childress – Vice President, Jan Kloeffler – Secretary, Joanie Schachtner – Membership, Hal Baumann – Treasurer.
There were 20 new Club members introduced from Green Bay, Pardeeville, Stoughton, Franklin, Ephraim, Pewaukee, Rice Lake, Tomahawk, Monroe, Madison and Independence.
There are 20 seats still open for the Tampa Bay Downs Racing event on March 12. The bus will depart from Spanish Springs. Specific information was provided about parking which will be restated in the next newsletter before the event.
John Krivitz was on site to sell tickets for the Mt. Dora Canal event in April. Tickets are $40 each.
Helen Feeney has some open seats for the Whispering Oaks luncheon on February 23.
A sign-up table was set up for the May and September cross-Club golf outings. Cost is $2/person.
Lois Meidenbauer was providing vouchers for the upcoming WI Singers show on March 23. A voucher is good for discounts on up to 6 tickets. A reminder was given that a portion of the proceeds comes back to each WI Club.
Helen Feeney was contacted by Mike Salerno from the Daily Sun for anyone within the Club who is a former dairy farmer. He is doing a feature article.
A presentation was given by Bryan Lifsey from Seniors vs. Crime. It was very informative and materials were provided on each table for people to take giving details for how they should utilize this important, free service provided within The Villages.
After Bryan’s presentation, everyone enjoyed free ice cream with toppings from Ollie’s.
Bill Cammack ran a WI trivia contest which everyone enjoyed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:50 PM after the 50/50 raffle was done.
